CHF Canada is looking for its next Executive Director
Based in Ottawa, the Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) is the organized voice of the Canadian co-operative housing movement. Its mission is to inspire, represent and serve its members in a united co-operative housing movement across Canada. CHF Canada is currently seeking an experienced and talented professional to serve this national association as:
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director has overall responsibility for providing for the effective democratic governance of CHF Canada, as well as the day-to-day operations of the organization. Supported by a staff of about 35, they will oversee the delivery of CHF Canada’s programs and services including promoting and supporting housing co-operatives, advancing and defending the values and interests of the membership and working towards strategic alliances, growth and outreach.
As the ideal candidate, you have an extensive knowledge of either co-operative housing or community housing in Canada. You have a proven track record in a senior management role, and ideally have previously reported directly to a volunteer Board of Directors. You possess superior financial management skills and are known for your diplomacy and ability to build strong working relationships and partnerships within the membership and broader stakeholder community. A natural leader and strategic thinker, exceptional interpersonal, communications and team building skills are the hallmarks of your approach. Fluency in both official languages is mandatory.
