WE RESOLVE:

THAT CHF Canada work with its member federations to:

• obtain a commitment from all levels of government to maintain the affordability of co-op homes for low-income members, through a long-term cost-shared plan for rent-geared-to-income (RGI) assistance programs delivered by provinces and territories;
• support provincial, territorial and municipal efforts to obtain funding from the federal government for long-term rent-geared-to-income assistance for low-income housing co op members, as federal operating agreements end;
• engage member co-ops actively in a national campaign to achieve these urgent goals, through regional federations of housing co-ops where they exist, and directly where they do not.

AND THAT CHF Canada:

• share quarterly government relations reports with member co-ops through regional federations of housing co-ops where they exist, and directly where they do not.
