On Tuesday December 4, 2018, the Ontario government announced a plan to sell surplus land for affordable housing and long-term care.
In response, CHF Canada’s Ontario Region released a statement calling on Ontario to ensure a portion of the land is dedicated for co-op and non-profit housing.
“The co-op housing sector is ready to partner with the provincial government to leverage our successful model to create new affordable that low- and middle-income Ontarians can actually afford,” said Simone Swail, Government Relations Manager of CHF Canada.
