Members talk thoughtfully at a workshopCHF Canada’s Annual Meeting will be held June 11-13, 2020 in beautiful Halifax, at the Halifax Convention Centre. This is your chance to learn, network, and contribute to the direction of Canada’s co-op housing movement.

Our refreshed and reimagined Annual Meeting will leave you inspired and brimming with ideas to take back to your co-op. As managers and staff, you’ll profit from leading-edge training and professional development.

Exciting changes for our 2020 Annual Meeting

Three members stand together at the AGMWe’re making some changes to our Annual Meeting format to make sure it meets members’ needs and delivers great value. We’re excited to share that our 2020 Annual Meeting will offer:

  • Shorter format: The meeting will be held over 3 days, instead of 4, to help you save money on accommodations. However, there will still be the same amount of workshop slots for members & staff!
  • More value: The Local Social, Friday & Saturday lunch, and Friday Dinner & Dance are all included in your registration fee this year.
  • Pre-conference event: The ever-popular Local Co-op & Sightseeing Tour will be kicking off the Annual Meeting on Thursday morning.
  • Tradeshow trivia: Attendees will have a chance to win great door prizes and test their trivia knowledge with our first-ever ‘tradeshow trivia’!

Please note: there is an additional $150 fee for those who are participating in the Institute of Housing Management course.

What’s included?

  • Travel pool: Co-ops that pay more than $800 for their delegate’s airfare to the meeting can get money back from the pool.
    • Delegates from co-ops with 25 units or less will not pay more than $325
    • Co-ops with 26 to 50 units are refunded the difference between $800 and the cost of an economy ticket or actual cost (whichever is less).
    • Co-ops with more than 50 units that pay more than $800 will get half of the difference between $800 and the cost of an economy ticket.
  • Childcare per diems: If you are a parent who might struggle with paying child-care expenses while attending our Annual Meeting, you may be eligible for a daily allowance. For more details on eligibility and how to apply, please read our childcare per diem information sheet.
  • Nova Scotia bursary: If you are from Nova Scotia and attend the Annual Meeting, your co-op is eligible for a bursary from Housing Nova Scotia.
  • Young Member Discount: CHF Canada is committed to supporting young members and offers 40% off all registration categories for any member 35 years of age and under. Select the young member discount option when you register.
  • Help for smaller co-ops: If you are a delegate from a co-op with 1-50 units, you receive 25% off your registration. The small co-op discount will be automatically applied when you register.
