We are excited to see federal rental assistance begin this September, thanks to the success of the “You Hold the Key” campaign.
Beginning September 1, 2020, rental assistance funding will begin for co-ops exiting federal operating agreements in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and PEI. This funding is available until March 31, 2028. The opt-in process begins six months before the co-op’s operating agreement matures.
Thanks to all our members for your hard work advocating for continued rental assistance. Stable rent assistance programs are important to the everyday lives of vulnerable households, and are key to the health of the whole co-op housing community.
