Job posting: Administrative Assistant, Co-operative Housing Development

The Co-operative Housing Federation (CHF) of Canada is recruiting for a full time (35 hours per week), permanent position of Administrative Assistant, Co-operative Housing Development to start in September 2024. The position may be based out of any CHF Canada office on a hybrid basis, including Truro (preferred), Ottawa, Toronto or Vancouver, with possible consideration for an alternate remote location.

Reporting to the Director, Co-operative Housing Development, the Administrative Assistant, Co-operative Housing Development provides administrative support to the Director and co-operative housing development staff and programs. This administrative support includes word processing, copying, filing, arranging conference calls, meeting logistics and planning, evaluations, materials research, document preparatory work, distributing agendas or materials, preparing presentation templates, and preparing and distributing minutes. The Administrative Assistant supports the set-up, data input, training and usage of document and record management systems.

What we’re looking for:

  1. Bilingualism in French/English is required.
  2. A post-secondary diploma in office administration, or combination of equivalent education and/or experience.
  3. Excellent word-processing skills (MS Word). Strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs – Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with Office365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Canva, and Miro is an asset.
  4. Experience with data management, integrity and reporting. Basic knowledge of common database / customer relationship management is an asset. Salesforce experience is an asset.
  5. Proficiency with information and file management.
  6. Professional telephone manner and ability to handle a multi-line telephone system.
  7. Good knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
  8. Experience taking accurate minutes of meetings.
  9. Superior attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  10. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  11. Ability to organize tasks and set priorities.
  12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  13. Meeting planning experience is an asset.

Starting salary range: $56,419-$59,851
