JOB POSTING: Regional Manager, Atlantic

The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada is recruiting for a full time (35 hours per week), permanent position of Regional Manager, Atlantic. The position will be based in the Truro, Nova Scotia office with a preferred start date of May 16, 2024. Hybrid work options are available, working out of the Truro, NS office. Alternative locations in the Atlantic region may be considered.

The Regional Manager, Atlantic oversees and delivers a program of support services to member housing co-operatives in the Atlantic provinces designed to enhance their governance and effective management and operation and to strengthen the management capacity of the co-operative housing movement generally. The Regional Manager liaises with relevant provincial housing officials on the issues related to the implementation of provincial housing programs and legislation; and supports and liaises with government relations team to advance regional member issues. The Regional Manager supports and enables the growth of the co-operative housing sector in the Atlantic Region, through partnership, capacity building and services to existing and new forms of co-operatives.

The Regional Manager works in collaboration with other CHF Canada staff to promote and facilitate the delivery CHF Canada’s services to member housing co-operatives in the Atlantic provinces such as the asset and financial services, education, member recruitment and retention, grant, scholarship and awards programs.

What we’re looking for:

• A university degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Specialized skills in one or more of the following areas: organizational development, financial management, governance, and/or property management.
• Working knowledge of government housing programs and of the governance, operation and management of housing co‑operatives.
• Demonstrated commitment to the growth and development of the non-profit co‑operative housing movement in Canada.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including listening skills and plain-language writing skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Excellent financial acumen including ability to review, interpret, and analyze financial statements.
• Time management skills and the ability to set priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• French language proficiency is an asset.
