    4:00 – 5:30 PM EST Staying Safe and Savvy Online: Protecting Yourself from Scams and Threats This FREE 90-minute online info-session is designed to give older adults the practical skills for navigating the digital world safely. The session responds to the growing risk of online fraud by cutting through technical jargon and focusing on clear, actionable tips to protect personal information, finances, and peace of mind. The presentation is organized around three core focus areas: • Recognizing and avoiding common scams, including phishing emails, fraudulent phone calls, and offline scams. • Implementing essential safety strategies such as strong passwords, device protection, and safe Wi‑Fi use. • Knowing what to do if fraud does occur. Participants are guided through immediate response steps, reporting and recovery options involving police, credit bureaus, and government services, and are provided with trusted resources for continued learning. Time for questions and discussion will be available. The session will be recorded. Success Stories

Greening the Future

For members of Keegano Housing Co-operative in Edmonton, Alberta, a bad summer of drought and wildfires was a wake-up call to examine the use of their property. Keegano is one of the oldest housing co-ops in Edmonton, with 50 townhomes.

Caroline Street

The co-op was established in 2024, when the tenants fundraised to purchase the building from the landlord and convert it from market rentals to non-profit ownership. Caroline Co-op has 21 units, a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, rented to members at affordable rates, including a portion of units offered at rent-geared-to-income rates subsidized through the City of Hamilton.
