WE RESOLVE:

1. THAT Ontario members thank the federal government for its re engagement on housing affordability, and the commitments for co-operative housing contained in the 2016 budget, in particular the funds that will extend federal assistance for low-income households until a longer-term solution to expiring operating agreements is developed;
2. THAT Ontario members renew their endorsement of the You Hold the Key campaign and call on all three levels of government to find a long-term solution to protect low-income members in federal housing co-ops;
3. AND THAT co-ops across Ontario work with the regional federations and CHF Canada’s Ontario Region to build on our campaign’s momentum and make sure that every municipal councillor, MPP, and MP with a co-op in their ward or riding knows that they hold the key to keeping vulnerable co-op members in their homes.
