Advice, Support and Education
We provide Ontario housing co-ops the advice and support they need to operate successfully under provincial housing programs and legislation. Our work complements the services offered by CHF Canada’s national office.
Advice and support
Every year, we receive hundreds of calls from co-ops with a variety of questions regarding such matters as:
- financial problems
- community concerns
- property tax appeals
- legal requirements for an eviction process
- special problems, and
- management issues.
Co-op managers and members can contact the co-op services staff for help with Ontario issues. We work with CHF Canada’s national office and with local federations to get you the right support.
Education
The successful operation of each housing co-op depends on effective training for co-op managers and volunteers. Member co-ops have access to Ontario-specific education services, such as workshops, presentations and materials in the Resources section.
