Resolution 6: Moving Forward on the Blueprint for a Co‑operative Decade

WE RESOLVE:

1. THAT CHF Canada work with national and international partners such as Co-operatives and Mutuals Canada (CMC) and the International Co-operative Alliance (“the Alliance”) to develop and support a campaign that promotes the co-op model to the broader public;
2. THAT CHF Canada develop an educational tool/resource for members that outlines our connections to the broader co-op movement, highlighting the history of co-operatives, and serving as a reminder that we are a part of a much larger movement;
3. THAT CHF Canada support the Co-operative Housing International (CHI) international travel exchange initiative with other members of CHI;
4. THAT CHF Canada continue to explore and support new and innovative ways of developing more co-operative housing in order to work towards the Blueprint’s overarching goal for co ops to be the preferred business model by 2020;
5. AND THAT member housing co-operatives and regional federations be encouraged to support the Blueprint by:
   • being ambassadors for their co-ops by participating locally in a national promotional campaign;
   • promoting the co-op brand through adopting the International Co-op marque and .COOP web domain; and
   • creating or getting involved with existing regional co-op clusters or networks.
