WE RESOLVE:
- THAT CHF Canada and co-op housing members recognize the critical role and expertise property management staff bring to the sector;
- AND THAT CHF Canada provide information and references to labour market conditions to support the recruitment and retention of qualified property management staff.
OUR REASONS FOR THIS RESOLUTION ARE:
- Co-operative housing property management staff play a vital role in supporting good governance, sound management and healthy co-operative communities.
- Co-operative housing property management staff play an important leadership role in growing the co-op housing movement. Our ability to grow the sector and achieve our vision of Co-op Housing for All depends on a commitment to valued, professional and evolving approaches to human resources and governance across our sector.
- Labour market conditions and labour shortages have impacted the sector’s ability to recruit and retain qualified co-operative housing property management staff.
- To advance co-operative identify, sustainability and growth as a sector, it is critical that co-operative housing property management staff have quality working conditions. Creating positive work environments and adopting leading practices are essential to the success and future of the co-operative housing sector.
- CHF Canada offers education and resources to support co-operative housing property management staff through activities such as the Co-op Managers Conference.
WE THINK THAT THIS WILL COST:
Funding for CHF Canada’s Member Services and Education activities have been included in the 2023 and 2024 operating budget.
