For our members that have their Commercial Insurance with Co-Operators Insurance, important information on how to make a claim and the claims process can be found here:
What you Should Know about a Property Claim:
- Call your insurance representative or provider as soon as possible. Most companies have 24-hour claims service.
- Detailed information is important. Provide a detailed account of the loss or damage circumstances when submitting a claim. Take photographs if it is safe to do so and make sure you keep records of any documentation that you have.
- A claims specialist, or adjuster will contact you to investigate the circumstance of the loss, examine documentation and explain the next steps. They will determines the facts related to the claim and the extent of what is afforded under your insurance policy.
- Review your policy and become familiar with specified deductibles, coverage limits and replacement values.
- Under the conditions of your policy you are required to take all necessary steps to limit further damage.
If you make a claim, the amount of a settlement you receive may depend on the type of coverage you purchased, less any deductibles or co-insurance clause.
