Earlier today, Canada’s Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Gregor Robertson met with CHF Canada CEO Tim Ross. It was a welcome opportunity to discuss the role housing co-operatives play in ensuring inclusive, affordable communities across the country. We discussed how, in partnership with government, existing housing co-ops are committed to continuing to provide deep affordability for low-income members. We also discussed the opportunity to work together to build new co-operative housing at scale. With widespread recognition that co-op housing offers the security and community that Canadians are looking for, the pipeline of shovel-ready co-op construction projects has never been deeper.
