In December, many co-ops received an email from the Ministry of Finance. It invites them to take part in a consultation on the review of the Co-operative Corporations Act.
CHF Canada is pleased to see a number of the proposed changes to the Act are ones that we and the broader co-op sector lobbied for.
We’re working with the Ontario Co-operative Association (OCA) and the broader sector to review the questions in the consultation and prepare a response. OCA will share this response in mid-January; CHF Canada will adapt to make it co-op housing specific and share with you.
The deadline to respond to the consultation is January 31, 2019. Our guide will be released as soon as possible. We hope all co-ops will take part.
