On September 14, your vote can support co-op housing in New Brunswick

New Brunswick heads to the polls on September 14. This pandemic has brought to the surface the social and economic inequalities across our country, and has reminded us how a safe and secure home is essential for all New Brunswickers, and all Canadians.

CHF Canada has sent out campaign postcards to each member co-op household during this election. This is our chance to ask questions of our elected officials and to make our voice heard. There are suggested questions on the postcard to ask candidates; such as:

  • How will you commit to long-term rental assistance for low-income households?
  • What is your party doing to ensure more seniors can age in place?
  • How will you work with the non-profit and co-operative housing sector to increase the supply of affordable housing?

“This election we need to recognize that keeping people in their communities and maintaining rent supplements is one of the most affordable and effective ways to ensure that every New Brunswicker has a safe and affordable place to call home,” says CHF Canada’s Atlantic Regional Manager, Karen Brodeur.
