#HumansOfCoopHousing: Keeping spirits high with a social distancing singalong
Published March 23, 2020
Fieldstone Co-op in Toronto has found a great way to maintain a sense of community and keep spirits high while practicing social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19.
They held a community singalong, with members taking part from a safe distance apart on their balconies and in the garden.
For their first sing-along, the members selected these songs:
- “My Favourite Things”, from Sound of Music
- “Hakuna Matata”, from The Lion King
- “Supercalifragilisticexpidalidocious”, from Mary Poppins
- “Bare Necessities”, from The Jungle Book
- “Let it Go”, from Frozen
Co-op members of all ages (and their dogs!) took part.
Members are already looking forward to the next singalong and sending in their song requests.
Throughout 2020, our Humans of Co-op Housing series will feature individuals who are making their co-ops a better place or speaking up for the importance of co-op housing. Let us know at info@chfcanada.coop who you’d like to see featured.
