Needham Co-op uses microgrant towards energy efficiency
Published November 05, 2020
Needham Co-op is a small co-operative located in the North End of Halifax.
It’s primarily a family coop, which means lots of laundry!
They used their Greener Co-op Microgrant to install clotheslines which were put to use immediately, especially with the beautiful weather Halifax had this year.
The co-op is reducing its electricity consumption and reducing wear and tear on the dryers that are mainly co-op owned and maintained. The co-op’s president, Tina Hiscock, says “We have wanted clotheslines for a long time and kept putting it off so this gave us the push to do it.”
CHF Canada’s Greener Co-op Microgrants are supported by sponsors including the Community Housing Transformation Centre.
