Submission to Build Canada Homes: Co-operative housing: Built to last, with purpose and scale

In August, CHF Canada made a submission to Build Canada Homes. We proposed working directly with Build Canada Homes (BCH) as a capable national
intermediary with robust regional connections to build significantly more affordable co-operative housing at-scale.

Further, we recommended the following strategic actions to BCH and the Government of Canada:

1. Recapitalize the Co-operative Housing Development Program,
2. Embed a portion of rent-geared-to-income assistance in every BCH project,
3. Launch the Rental Protection Fund with urgency and scale, and
4. Prioritize Indigenous housing through a For-Indigenous, By-Indigenous stream and
   resources.
