Thanks for joining us at CHF Canada’s Fall Education Events!

This fall across Canada, 240 people from 86 co-ops participated in CHF Canada Fall Education Events in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, London, Sudbury, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

These Education Events give co-op members an opportunity to chat and network face-to-face with other local co-ops, and to upgrade skills and knowledge with what one attendee called “very helpful information that we can bring back to our own co-op.”

This year, workshops focused especially on helping co-ops plan, provide good member service, and deal with difficult situations. Participants also learned about our Vision for the Future of the co-operative housing movement in Canada.

Patricia Tessier, CHF Canada’s new Director, Member Services attended her first Fall Education Event. “The event provided a perfect blend of time for recognition, time for exchange with one another on challenges and successes, and time for learning,” said Patricia. “Members were welcoming and supportive of each other, sharing ideas and experiences. I was very impressed by how everyone cares so much about their homes and communities; and dedicate so much time and energy to their success.”

If you didn’t have a chance to attend a Fall Education Event, you can still benefit from online training and resources.  CHF Canada offers an online Board Basics workshop, and our members-only Resource Centre has a wide range of resources on topics from managing arrears to diversity and inclusion to hosting great members’ meetings.
