Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) is the national go-to hub for all things co-operative housing. Founded in 1968, CHF Canada is a well-established and innovative membership association whose mission is to inspire, represent and serve housing co-operative members in a united co-operative housing movement. The co-operative offers members a wide range of services designed to support their business needs and to develop the co-operative housing sector, including expert advice and support, asset management and financial planning services, resources and education, and awards, grants and scholarships. With over 900 members representing a quarter million people living in housing co‑operatives across Canada, CHF Canada is highly respected for its impactful advocacy at national, regional and local levels.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Corporate Services oversees financial management, IT, governance, facilities, HR, and administration. This strategic leadership role focuses on driving process improvements, advancing digital innovation, and ensuring operational excellence. The Director provides financial insights to guide decisions, oversees budget planning, investments, reporting, and risk management. They lead technology initiatives to enhance staff while safeguarding cybersecurity. Additionally, the Director fosters an inclusive workplace, ensures operational efficiency, and supports governance as the Corporate Secretary, advising the Board and its committees.
As the ideal candidate, you have a proven track record of driving integrated policies, processes, systems, and programs to ensure effective stewardship of organizational resources. Acting with integrity and respect, you are a visionary leader who communicates with clarity, collaborates to provide service, and takes initiative to achieve results. Upholding operational excellence, you have the opportunity to strategically reimagine the function, identifying opportunities for finance and digital transformation. Leading with purpose and planning for the future, you bring strengths in organizational management, business strategy, corporate services, and information technology, enabling the organization to flourish. With deep expertise in finance and corporate services, you model and foster a culture of collaboration and support, empowering stakeholders through informed decision-making and advancing financial literacy. Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset, and a CPA designation is strongly preferred.
